PICAYUNE —
Funeral services for Vada Mae Rimes, 83, of Slidell, La., who passed away Thursday, December 6, 2012, were held Monday, December 10, 2012 at 12 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home Chapel.
Visitation was held Monday, December 10, 2012 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at McDonald Funeral Home.
Burial was in New Palestine Cemetery under the direction of McDonald Funeral Home.
Bro. Mark Gambino and Casey Sones officiated the service.
A native of Lucedale, Miss., she was a Homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who will truly be missed. She loved having her hair and nails done, and she loved to talk on the phone. Vada enjoyed the Lifetime Channel and loved to shop.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Williams Everett Langley and Mary Amanda Howell Langley; her husband, Robert F. Rimes; and her sisters and brother, Lilly Eaves, Hazel Hanson, Jenny Blackmon, and Jimmy Langley.
Survivors include: her children, Patrick “Nicky” Nichelson and wife Elaine, Billy Nichelson and wife Paula, Judy Willis and husband Ron, Regina Griffin and husband Ben, and Larry Nichelson and wife Diane; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
