PICAYUNE —
Chrystelle “Chris” Pevey Evans, 80, of Picayune, Miss., passed away Saturday, October 6, 2012 at her home.
Her funeral service wash held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 8, 2012 at Picayune Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation was held from 1:00 p.m. and until time of service. Bro. Wayne Rice officiated the services.
Chris was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. She loved to quilt, cook, and tend to her flowers. She loved spending time with her family and going to church. She was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by: her mother, Fannie Mae DeLancey of Goss, Miss.; husband, Ford Evans of Picayune; two sons, James Edward Pevey, Jr. of Monticello, Miss., and Leon Marshall Pevey of Belle Chase, La.; three daughters, Loretta Arthur of Lacombe, La., Carol Flathers of Columbia, Miss., and Debra Sluss of Picayune; two brothers, Roma DeLancey, Jr. of California and Harold DeLancey of Monticello; five sisters, Francis Letchworth of Oakvale, Miss., Jerrine Speights of Goss, Maudie Prine of Columbia, Charlotte Trott of Oakville, Miss., and Dall Ward of Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by: her father, Roma DeLancey, Sr.; one brother, Ellis Ford DeLancey; and her loving first husband, James Pevey, Sr.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gideon Bibles, P.O. Box 1465, Picayune, MS 39466. Arrangements are under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home and Crematory.
