PICAYUNE — Clarence Vincent Strain, 70, of Carriere passed away Monday, August 23, 2010 at his residence.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 from 6-10 p.m. at Burgetown Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Funeral Service will be Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Burgetown Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, with Pastor Frank Spiers officiating. Burial will follow at Carriere Cemetery, under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home.

Clarence was a U. S. Army Veteran, did masonry work and was a member of Burgetown Church of the Lord Jesus Christ for 40+ years.

He was preceded in death by: his daughter, Tammy Fair; and brother, Douglas Strain.

He is survived by: his wife, Melrose Strain; four sons, Terry (Terri Lynn) Strain, Tim (Connie) Strain, Rick (Ruth) Strain and Ted (Monica) Strain; one daughter, Theresa (Stephen) Spiers; one brother, Grady Strain; 15 grandchildren: Brandon Strain, Tyler Strain, Casey Grinder, Tabitha Proctor, Talor Strain, Tanner Strain, Brittany McLaurin, Erica Spiers, Seth Spiers, Meaghan Strain, Lauren Strain, Candace (Ian) Keenum, Amy Lossett, Ryan Strain and Jackie Strain; and four great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home.
