Jimmy Davis was a life-long resident of Picayune, and a member of Unity Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Edwin and Lessie M. Davis.
He is survived by: one sister, Bettye D. Lossett and her husband David; his Wife, Jo Deshotel Davis; his daughter, Daphnie D. Beebe and her husband Bert; his son, Eric Davis and his wife Andrea; and his son, Joey Davis. God blessed him with five wonderful grandchildren, granddaughters: ReAnna, Rachel, and Bekah Beebe; grandsons: Drew and Caleb Davis; and one great-grandson, Levi Beebe, all residents of Picayune. His countless friends are considered as extended family.
Jimmy was a Field Superintendent for ExxonMobil U.S. Production and retired April 2012 after 38 years in the Offshore Oil Industry.
Jimmy was a very charitable person. He enjoyed many hobbies-hunting, fishing, camping, golfing, dirt track racing, NASCAR races, cooking up his original recipes, woodworking and metal welding and design of various unique creations.
He was notorious for his fun-loving and well-planned practical jokes. He enjoyed helping others and was a friend to all.
His greatest joys in life were spending time with family and friends in all his activities.
Jimmy wished to acknowledge the following doctors through whose hands the Lord allowed him an additional 10 years here on Earth: Dr. T.O. McRaney, Dr. R. Dale LeBlanc, Dr. Cary Gray, and his personal case physicians at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but will continue to watch over us from Heaven above.
In lieu of flowers, it was Jimmy's desire that contributions be made to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center designated to Bladder Cancer Research, P.O. Box 4486, Houston, TX 77210-4486 or at www.mdanderson.com.
