PICAYUNE —
On Monday, March 18, 2013, Heaven received a man, Hilbert H. Miller, who has strived his entire life to be worthy of meeting his creator.
Born in Westonia, Miss. on July 1, 1929, he was preceded in death by: his parents Lemuel and Lorenza Miller; and his five brothers, Harbin, Carl, Edward, Paul, and Grayson.
Survivors include: his wife, Katherine Mitchell Miller; his daughters, Susan (Donald Ray) Stogner, and Janice (Richard) Stevens; his son, Steven (Dawn) Miller; his four grandchildren, Derek, Hayley, Blake, and Heath; and his great-grandchildren, Trey, Peyton, and Presley. He will be sadly missed and always remembered for his genuine smile.
He was a veteran of the Korean War and later retired from the Mississippi Army National Guard after 39 years of distinguished service to his country. He served faithfully in his community as a Shriner and as Deacon Emeritus at Goodyear Baptist Church for 37 years.
Services will be held on Thursday, March 21, at Goodyear Baptist Church under the direction of Picayune Funeral Home.
Visitation will be held from 12– 2 p.m., with services starting at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to the Goodyear Baptist Church Building Fund.
