PICAYUNE —
Nellie Ruth Russell Carroll, 77, of Picayune, Miss., passed away Friday, October 5, 2012 at Gulfport Memorial Hospital.
Nellie was a resident of Hancock County for seven years and is a retired bookkeeper.
She is survived by: four sons, James Byron Carroll, Sr. of Columbia, Miss., Gerald La Rue Carroll of Poplarville, Miss., Ronald Ray Carroll of Picayune, and Jay Timothy Carroll of Luling, La.; and one daughter, Sheila Nell Zoll of Orlando, Fla. She had one brother, James Z. Russell of Pearl River, La.; and three sisters, Faye Melton of Stockton, Calif., Lora Rushing of Bradenton, Fla., and Ernestine McBeth Hayes of Picayune. She is also survived by: nine grandsons; two granddaughters; two great-grandchildren; and her loving companion, Robert Fazende.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Ernest Baxter Russell and Minnie Ruth Stewart Russell; and her beloved husband, Waldon Carroll.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 12, 2012 from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. at Picayune Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 10 a.m. with Bro. Jim Bienhard officiating. Burial will be at Gibson Cemetery.
