POPLARVILLE — Audrey Irene Schubert, 75, of Poplarville, formerly a resident of Wautoma, Wis., went to her Heavenly Home on June 27 at her home.
She was born to Alvin and Beatrice Kietzer on November 16, 1933. After graduating Wautoma High School, she married Frank Schubert on May 16, 1953. They have two children Scott Schubert (Geralyn) of Wautoma and Amy Freese (Steven) of Greenback, Tenn.; four grandchildren: Matthew Schubert of Wautoma, Rebecca Schultz (John) of Mt. Vernon, Iowa, Christopher Ross Jr. (Heaven) and Marissa Ross of Milwaukee, Wis.
Frank and Audrey owned with their son and daughter Coast to Coast/Do It Best Hardware Store in Wautoma for 43 years, 1961-2004.
They enjoyed 15 years of spending winters on their sailboat “Grace” sailing the Bahamas. In 1995 the became land lovers in Stuart, Fla., while still taking short cruises on “Grace”. In 2005 they moved to Poplarville, a small town similar to Wautoma and enjoy many friends.
Audrey was a member of Rural Rembrandts and was a very talented artist. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Audrey had an adventurous spirit, no task was too big to handle. She was our rock and always strong to help her family and friends.
Visitation will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at 10 a.m. with service to follow at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. The proceeds will go to a neighboring church, Good Sheppard that still has many needs due to Hurricane Katrina. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1309 Hwy 11, South Picayune, MS 39466.
The family is planning a celebration of Audrey’s life later this summer in Wautoma.
