Voter registration deadline this Saturday

PICAYUNE — Pearl River County residents who would like to vote in the upcoming general election set for Nov. 6 that includes the presidential race and congressional races, have until Saturday to register.

This deadline affects only those residents who are not already registered to vote.

According to information released by the Pearl River County Circuit Clerk’s office, the deadline to register to vote for the upcoming election is by noon Saturday, Oct. 6. Registration can be completed at either the Circuit Clerk’s office in Poplarville at the Pearl River County Courthouse on Main Street or in Picayune at Chimney Square on Goodyear Boulevard.

Any registered voter who has moved to a new address anywhere within the county should update the address with the Circuit Clerk’s office by calling 601-403-2328 or 601-749-7728.

Voters who know they will be out of the county during the general election should contact the Circuit Clerk’s Office about absentee voting prior to election day.
