PEARL RIVER COUNTY —
Two suspects are facing possession of methamphetamine charges after a search of their home found about five grams of the drug.
Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department Chief Investigator Donnie Saucier said the Narcotics Division was able to obtain a search warrant for the home of 41-year-old Donald Shane Conerly at 859 John Amacker Rd., after obtaining enough information through their investigation to justify a search.
The search warrant was served on March 9, and detectives found Conerly and 27-year-old Jennifer Gilbert of 180 McNeill Steephollow Rd., smoking methamphetamine in the living room, Saucier said.
Both suspects were taken into custody, and during the search, the detectives found 15 various kinds of firearms in the home, including a 9 mm pistol in the recliner in which Conerly was sitting, Saucier said.
The search also uncovered about five grams of methamphetamine along with scales and plastic bags used to package and sell the drug, Saucier said.
Conerly and Gilbert were charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, and Conerly faced the additional charge of possession of firearms by a convicted felon, Saucier said.
