POPLARVILLE —
A single vehicle accident Wednesday left a Poplarville man in critical condition.
Trooper First Class Roy Jacobsen with the Mississippi Highway Patrol said the accident occurred Wednesday on Mississippi Highway 43 South near Dummy Line Road.
According to an MHP investigation report, the driver of a 2006 Hyundai Sonata, identified as 28-year-old Bradley Smith of Poplarville, lost control of his vehicle as he attempted to pass another vehicle on the highway, Jacobsen said.
The vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree, cutting the vehicle in half at the front passenger door area, Jacobsen said.
The last word on Smith’s condition was that he was in stable, but critical condition at Ochsner in Slidell, La, Jacobsen said.
