PICAYUNE —
The last Federal Emergency Management Agency Disaster Recovery Center in Pearl River County will close at the end of business on Friday.
Any resident who has not applied for Disaster Recovery Assistance can still do so before the office closes on Friday, at the Picayune location at 1251-B U.S. 11 South near Friendship Park, a release from FEMA states.
Applications for aid still can be submitted after the center closes until Oct. 31, by visiting the FEMA website at disasterassistance.gov., according to the release. Applications also can be made using a smart phone at m.fema.gov or by phone by calling 800-621-3362.
The phone service will be available from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week, the release states.
There are only four DRCs still open within Mississippi, including the Picayune location. The other three are located in Hancock, Harrison and Jackson Counties. All four will close Friday.
