UPDATE — Sheriff’s Department shooting death investigation
POPLARVILLE — Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department investigators are investigating the shooting death of a 19 year-old male.
The incident took place Thursday morning at about 4:15 in the Poplarville area. Chief Investigator Donnie Saucier said the shooting apparently took place during a residential burglary. The shooting victim is not a resident of the home where he was shot and the homeowner was not injured in the incident.
Pearl River County Coroner Derek Turnage released the name of the deceased Friday morning, the deceased is identified as 19 year-old Ashton J. Rester. More details will be released in the coming days.
