Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department investigators are investigating the shooting death of a 19 year-old male.
The incident took place Thursday morning at about 4:15 in the Poplarville area. Chief Investigator Donnie Saucier said it is believed that the shooting took place during a residential burglary. The shooting victim was not a resident of the home where he was shot. The homeowner was not injured during the incident.
Saucier said the name of the shooting victim can not be released at this time and the investigation is ongoing. More details will be released in the coming days.
