PICAYUNE —
A call came into the Picayune Police Department Tuesday evening about a fight on Neal Road, a fight which ended with at least two people being stabbed.
Picayune Police officers were sent to the area of Neal Road just after 5 p.m. in reference to a fight between two white males and several black males, said Jeremy Magri, Administrative Assistant to the Police Chief.
Officers arrived on the scene to find the fight was already over, but witnesses, in their statements, recalled seeing at least one person leave the scene with a bloody shirt, Magri said.
About 30 minutes later the department received a call about two men, one white and one black, being admitted to Highland Community Hospital with stab wounds, Magri said. The victims included a 17-year-old white male and 20-year-old Demonte Myers of 2105 Cousin St. The juvenile had to be airlifted to Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg for treatment of his wounds, Magri said. The investigation is still underway.
The juvenile suffered three stab wounds to his back, while Myers suffered wounds to his head, lower left torso and left arm, Magri said. So far, the investigation shows Myers and the juvenile suffered the stab wounds during the fight on Neal Road.
While no arrests have been made at this time, Magri said the department is continuing to try to locate any and all suspects involved and to determine the cause of the fight.
