CARRIERE — An investigation into the alleged sale of narcotics out of a Pearl River County home uncovered heroin and a number of other illegal substances.
The investigation focused on the home of 29 year-old Jack Maddison Ceaser III who lives at 79 Dogwood Dr., Carriere, said Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department Chief Investigator Donnie Saucier.
During the investigation, deputies learned that Ceaser was on probation with the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Narcotics Supervisor Sgt. Rob Williams contacted Ceaser’s probation officer and set up a residence inspection, which Saucier said is conducted routinely to look for illegal activity at the homes of people who are on probation. Sheriff’s department investigators assisted in the inspection.
When the inspection took place on Friday investigators found three other people visiting the home. In the home investigators found a pill bottle with Ceaser’s name on it with 46 aluminum foil squares containing what is believed to be heroin. The weight of the heroin, packaged up for resale, is estimated to be about 6.5 grams, Saucier said.
Investigators also found in the possession of the visitors what is believed to be 17 grams of marijuana, scales, two Klonopin pills, one Xanax, four Methadone pills and alcohol.
Ceaser was charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of beer and possession of bonded whiskey.
Ambier Rose O’Harrow, 25, of 924 Meadow Lane, Fort Walton Beach, Fla., was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance, for the Xanax and the Klonopin pills found in her purse, and possession of beer and possession of bonded whiskey.
Angus Courtney Lumpkin, 25, of 2583 Valley Rd., Navarre Beach, Fla., was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance for the Methadone, possession of marijuana, possession of beer and possession of bonded whiskey.
Matthew William Lumpkin, 25, of 2583 Valley Rd., Navarre Beach, Fla., was charged with possession of beer and possession of bonded whiskey.
Saucier said that while heroin is a rare find in Pearl River County he promises, “Anyone who decides to come selling heroin in Pearl River County will be dealt with swiftly.”

Local gas prices continue a gradual upward trend

Man charged with burglaries
A Picayune man is facing multiple burglary charges for allegedly stealing copper and other metal items from homes, businesses and a church.
Charged is 22-year-old Wyatte Mitchell of 206 W. Sycamore Rd., said Capt. Chad Dorn with the Picayune Police Department. -

Motorists wanting to turn down Fifth Avenue at its intersection with U.S. Hwy. 11 are having to detour as the turn lane was blocked on Tuesday as city work crews repaired the street.
