POPLARVILLE — The Pearl River County Board of Supervisors meet at 9 a.m. Monday in the boardroom in the old courthouse.

Included on the agenda are:

Consider proclaiming May 3-9 as Goodwill Industries Week.

Scott Favere Invoice 3 for construction management on Chimney Square.

Consider president signing Solid Waste Assistance Grant award.

Consider voiding tax sale.

Consider president to sign receipt of funds.

Consider Picayune school leases.

Consider disclosure submission and authorizing payment for services.

Central Landfill first quarter host fee payment.

Charter Communications first quarter fee payment.

Discuss Byrne Grant.

Consider adding Egert Street to County Road list.

Consider accepting meeting reports from Gulf Coast Women’s Center for nonviolence, Nicholson VFD, Pearl River Basin Development District, SPCA and Region XIII Commission for Mental Health.

Consider Chancery Court clerks attending domestic violence seminar May 19-21 in Choctaw.

Consider DUI officer to STORM spring conference May 5-7 in Pearl.

Next meeting scheduled for Monday, May 11.

Supervisors support sales tax proposal
The Pearl River County Board of Supervisors unanimously supports District 1 Supervisor Anthony Hales proposal for a 1-percent county sales tax.
Hales had outlined his proposal at two earlier meetings of the board of supervisors and the other four members voiced their support for the idea at Wednesday’s meeting.
