Canton, Miss. — Five students at Canton High School have been arrested following a fight that police say sent one student and a teacher to the hospital.
Police detained 25 students after the fight.
Canton Police Chief Robert Winn says the fight, which started about 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, left one student and a teacher with minor injuries.
One student was arrested for simple assault and two others for disruptive behavior. Another student was arrested for drugs and another for carrying a concealed weapon.
Canton Public School District spokeswoman Beverly Luckett says a knife was not used in the fight, but was later found by police.
School officials say 20 students face disciplinary hearings.
