Suspect caught for car burglaries

PICAYUNE — Reports of burglarized vehicles involved stolen money and purses led to an arrest on Monday, Aug. 25.

The suspect, identified as Robyn Little, 21, of 710 Jarrell St., was later charged with her alleged involvement of those incidents.

Apparently she was seen at a number of locations acting suspiciously. Reports of the suspicious activity began coming into the Picayune Police Department on Aug. 20, where a local day care employee noticed a suspicious female by her vehicle.

The employee approached the suspect, later found to be Little, and asked her what she was doing there. Little told the employee she was looking for someone who worked at the daycare, but the suspect left in her vehicle a short time later, Public Information Officer Capt. Theresa Milar said. Later the employee noticed that money was missing from her vehicle.

Another report on Monday, Aug. 25, described a vehicular burglary at the same day care center where a purse was taken. In the purse was the victim’s driver’s license and credit card. A few days earlier an officer worked a incident where a suspicious female was seen attempting to gain entry to vehicles parked outside a local doctor’s office, Milar said. When an employee confronted the woman, she left in her vehicle, described to be the same one seen at the day care.

Later, investigators received information that Little allegedly made purchases with the stolen credit card fuel at a local service station. She also allegedly attempted to make another purchase at a local business, but when she was asked for her identification she refused and left the store with the credit card.

Little then allegedly returned to the gas station to make another purchase. An employee at the store suspected the card was stolen based off of information provided by the department and confiscated the card, Milar said.

The description of Little and her vehicle was used to conduct a traffic stop and take her into custody Monday. She was charged the same day with petit larceny and vehicle burglary, Milar said.
