PICAYUNE — A possible tornado caused damage in the northern part of Pearl River County Sunday evening.

According to a press release from the Pearl River County Emergency Management Office the suspected tornado hit at about 5 p.m. Sunday, causing minor damage to three homes on Indian Springs Road.

No injuries were reported, but windows were blown out of homes and smaller structures in the area were destroyed, said EOC Public Information Officer Tony Bounds. Some roof damage also was reported. In all, three homes in that area suffered some sort of damage.

Currently it is not known if the damage was caused by a tornado, but the National Weather Service out of Slidell, La., is expected to survey the damage early this week, Bounds said.

Updates to this story will be released when more information is available.
