Picayune City Council meets Tuesday

PICAYUNE — The Picayune City Council meets at 5 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall, 815 N. Beech St.

Included on the agenda are:

Consider minutes of the June 15 and the June 24 meetings.

Consider the docket.

Consider petition and communications:

— Senior Center request to host Picayune Piney Woods Fun on Oct. 30.

— American Cancer Society request to use Jack Read Park for a fun run July 31.

— Resurrection Life request to use soccer field for volleyball tournament on Sunday, July 25.

Consider old business:

— Request to amend Ordinance 848 regarding the definition of Katrina Cottages and their location inside the city.

— Request to file petition to adopt ordinance rezoning Superfund Site from Heavy Industrial to Open Space.

— Request to rezone several parcels form Neighborhood Commercial to Residential.

Consider new business:

— Request from Utility Authority for an easement along Stemwood Drive for a water line to connect the authority’s water to the city’s water tank.

— Open bids on $700,000 bond issue.

— Modification to financial report for fiscal 2008.

— Advertise for replacement of roof at Crosby Memorial Library.

— Bid tabulations for overlay of airport runway.

— Bid recommendation by Allen & Hoshall for overlay of airport runway by Huey Stockstill for $569,365.

— Pay three invoices from Hartman Engineering for professional services.

— Security agreement between Picayune schools and the police department.

— Policy statement of the DBE Plan for improvement project at Picayune Municipal Airport.

— Request to set day for public hearing on property clean up on several properties.
