PICAYUNE —
A call of a suspicious vehicle parked at a business led Picayune Police Officers to a suspected marijuana dealer.
Capt. Chad Dorn said the department received a call of the suspicious person in their parking lot, located at 2322 Miss. 43 S., on Wednesday just after 5 p.m. Officers arrived and noticed the driver was asleep in the vehicle’s driver seat. Three clear plastic bags were visible inside the vehicle containing a green leafy substance so officers awoke the man, 21-year-old Jeremy Turner of 12362 White Oak Dr., Gulfport, and was asked to step out of his vehicle, Dorn said.
Two of the bags were determined to contain marijuana about a half pound of marijuana combined, while the third contained synthetic marijuana, Dorn said. Officers also found a prescription bottle containing 13 Somas, two and a half Xanax and two Methadone pills. Through investigative procedures the officer was able to determine Turner was waiting at the business with the intention of selling the marijuana.
Dorn said Turner was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, felony possession of a controlled substance and two counts of misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.
