Local business owner dies

PICAYUNE — The owner of Picayune Tire passed away Monday, 75-year-old Harold Loyd Richardson, at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg.

Pearl River County Coroner Derek Turnage said Richardson passed away due to complications from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

According to Richardson’s obituary he was the owner of Picayune Tire since 1965.

Funeral arrangements have been set. Visitation will be Friday Oct. 19, at Picayune Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m. and the funeral will be Saturday Oct. 20, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow the funeral at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family ask donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at P.O. Box 10000 Dept. 142, Memphis, Tenn., 38101.
