Police employees’ personal vehicles broken into at the jail, city vehicle stolen
One suspect has been arrested for multiple vehicle burglaries and two stolen vehicles.
Two shoplifting suspects also suspects in car accidents
Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department, Picayune Police Department and Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a three car accident on U.S. Highway 11 on Tuesday morning.
A pre-dawn gas line explosion shook residents out of their beds in a rural, wooded area of Washington Parish, briefly knocking out power to thousands of people but not injuring anybody.
Supervisors hold hearing on road realignment
The Pearl River County Board of Supervisors held a public hearing after the regular meeting Monday morning to discuss the realignment of the southern portion of Richardson-Ozona Road and its intersection with U.S. Highway 11.

Two charged with grand larceny for stealing pick-up truck
A pick-up truck stolen in Picayune on Thursday was recovered on Saturday in Harrison County.
Circle Drive has been partially closed and detour routes set up so that the Pearl River Utility Authority can make emergency repairs to the failing 12 inch sewer line.

House blaze determined to be arson
A Picayune residence fire that occurred on June 12 has been determined to be arson.
BLAST SITE
An elevator well exploded Thursday evening at QUIKRETE® cement and concrete plant, located at 130 Huey Stockstill Rd., due to a buildup of propane gas, according to Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department officials. Coast Electric technicians were actively working at the scene on Thursday and Friday, making repairs to damaged electrical equipment.
