PICAYUNE —
Three suspects are facing drug charges stemming from two separate cases worked by the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department.
Chief Investigator Donnie Saucier said the first case was the result of a month-long investigation that included two purchases of heroin through the use of a confidential informant. The investigation led to the arrest of 33-year-old Jack Madison Ceasar and 28-year-old Drew P. Danos, both of 700 S. Curran Ave., Apt. 115, Saucier said.
Saucier said the investigation began as a community complaint alleging heroin was being sold out of the home. An investigation began and a confidential informant was able to purchase heroin from the home on two separate occasions, the chief investigator said.
Arrest warrants were secured and served by Picayune Police officers on Oct. 22, Saucier said, leading to both Ceasar and Danos being taken into custody on the charges of two counts each of sale of a controlled substance (heroin) within 1,500 feet of a school or church.
The second case began as a routine traffic stop in which Detective Daniel Quave saw a vehicle without a tag, the chief investigator said. Saucier said a stop was made for the traffic offense, and during the stop Quave saw the occupant making suspicious movements.
The suspicious behavior of the occupant prompted Quave to request consent to search the vehicle and after the driver, 24-year-old Christopher Shawn Taylor of 110 Rolling St., gave consent, about six and a half Xanax pills were found in a clear bag under the driver’s side carpet of the vehicle, Saucier said.
Taylor was charged with possession of a controlled substance since he did not have a prescription for the medication, Saucier said.
