Picayune City Council meets Tues.


PICAYUNE — The Picayune City Council meets at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the new City Hall, 815 N. Beech St.

Included on the agenda are:

Recognize state champion girls fast pitch softball team Picayune Heat 10 & under Class B Division.

Consider old business:

— Discuss Siemen’s contract.

— Request by Kent Whitfield to subdivide 701 Carroll St. into two parcels.

Consider new business:

— Request to amend ordinance to reflect time council meetings begin to be 5 p.m.

— Senior Center request to host Picayune Piney Woods 5K and 1-mile runs 7:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3.

— Discuss possible sale of land to Rheogistics.

— Request toappoint a voting delegate to represent the city at MML vice presidential election.

— Request to advertise the resources of the city by aauthorizing $60 for registration fgees for Jasmine Thomas, Johnathan Moore and Morgan Williams to represent Picayune at MML youthtrack meeting.

— Grant from Miss. Dept. of Public Safety for Stop Violence Against Women program.

— Cash request #8 for administrative and engineering service relative to CDBG downtown improvements.

— Application to Miss. Dept. of Transportation for fueling system generator for the Municipal Airport.

— Memorandum of understanding with MDOT concerning overlay of North Main and Beech streets and Palestine Road project.

— Travel for Glen Gibson and Raymond Wood to attend Miss. Natural Gas Assoc. conference in Orange Beach, Ala.

— Donations totaling $1,025 for Picayune Police Memorial/Pay It Forward fund.

— Donations totaling $2,650 for the police summer camp.

— Donation of $50 from Richard Cowart for the Picayune Police Memorial/Pay It Forward fund.

— Agreement to provide security services for the Picayune school district.

— Agreementwith Blackboard Connectfor Government from July7-Sept. 30, for purpose of mass notification. System is on GSA contract.
