PICAYUNE —
A call of an unresponsive female in the back seat of a car at a Picayune area home could be the result of a prescription medication overdose.
The call concerning the woman came into the Pearl River County Sheriff’s Department just before 9 p.m. Wednesday, said Chief Deputy Shane Tucker.
Deputies and emergency responders went to a home on Point View Drive, where the complainant led them to a car in the carport where a female lay unresponsive in the back seat.
Pearl River County Coroner Derek Turnage identified the woman as 41-year-old Lisa Samette Weaver of Picayune, who was pronounced deceased just after 9 p.m. the same day.
Tucker said EMS personnel examined Weaver, and confirmed she was deceased. When a deputy asked if anyone else was at the home, emergency personnel were led by the complainant to Weaver’s sister, who was inside the home and was in a semi-comatose state under the influence of an excessive amount of narcotics, Tucker said.
Weaver’s sister was taken to a hospital for treatment, and reportedly she is in the ICU but in stable condition, Tucker said.
Turnage said a toxicology report, which could take up to 8 weeks, is under way, but it is suspected that an overdose of a combination of Hydrocodone, Soma and Xanax contributed to Weaver’s death.
