The 4th Annual Pearl River County Community Band Christmas Concert Sunday, at 2 p.m., in the Picayune High Memorial Auditorium.
Under direction of Johnny Baker, the music selected was based on crowd favorites from previous years. As always the first song is “Star Spangled Banner;” the first Christmas selection will be Winter Wonderland. It will be followed by “The Christmas Song” and “Little Drummer Boy.”
Baker says, “There will be a total of eight Christmas songs performed in addition to our patriotic opening. One of the surprises for this year is that we will be using a quartet instead of full choir. Our quartet consists of: Cheryl Watson (Soprano), Lorraine Seal (Alto), Marty Stone (Tenor) and Skip Rigney (Bass). They will perform for every other song on the program.
“The main thing is we want people to come out and celebrate the season as a community. We have worked really hard and look forward to performing.”
