Picayune’s Shop by Candlelight throughout downtown is highlighted by Christmas on the Rails at the Intermodal Transportation and Tourism Center (the train depot on U.S. Highway 11) 5-8 p.m. today.
As part of the Christmas on the Rails celebration, a camouflage mailbox has been set up to take letters and cards of support to members of the local Army National Guard unit, the 857th Engineer Horizontal Company, now deployed to Afghanistan.
The mailbox is located near the entrance to the parking lot to be convenient to those driving in to view the exhibit in Shay Park where another mailbox for letters to Santa is located.
