PICAYUNE —
The Krewe of the Pearl is set to roll on Monday, February 4, 2013 at 6 p.m. The deadline has been extended to Friday February 1st; each entry can have its own theme.
Entry fees and categories are as follows:
Category A – Floats 30 feet and over will have a $40 fee.
Category B – Floats less than 30 feet long will have a $35 fee.
Category C – Decorated Cars will have a $30 fee.
Category D – Decorated Trucks will have a $30 fee.
Category E – Marching entries will have a $25 fee.
Category F – Horse entries will have a $20 fee per horse.
Category G – Decorated Mini Riding Units will have a $20 fee per riding vehicle. (Motorcycles, bicycles and golf carts approved for street use; no three or four wheelers, dirt bikes, etc.)
All Chamber members will recieve $5 off entry fee.
The line up from the parade will be on Goodyear Boulevard in the East bound lane between Kirkwood and Beech Streets.
Greater Picayune Area Chamber of Commerce Director April Lovelace said, “The Chamber staff & board are pleased to bring you the 2nd Annual Krewe of The Pearl Mardi Gras Parade. We are expecting a bigger and better parade each year.”
“Several organizations have came together to bring the citizens of Picayune a great Mardi Gras season including the recent Krewe of the Pearl Mardi Gras Ball sponsored by both the Greater Picayune Arts Council & Greater Picayune Area Chamber of Commerce; Krewe of the Pearl Mardi Parade sponsored by Greater Picayune Area Chamber of Commerce and Paw Di Gras sponsored by the Senior Center of South Pearl River County. I will speak for all organizations and wish the citizens of Picayune a great Mardi Gras Season.”
