This is the time of year to plant trees. Citrus does quite well in our area if taken care of correctly. Bountiful harvests occur during the holiday season from Thanksgiving through New Years. Blueberries are a crop that does extremely well in the Pearl River County area. Many varieties are grown, extending the season- from spring thru early summer. Blueberries are grown for personal use and commercially grown in the area. Knowledge of their growing habits is very important for success. Places to purchase and how to care for them will be discussed.
Tomatoes are a very rewarding crop. A wide variety, grow very well in Pearl River County. Tomatoes can be enjoyed over many months by being careful what varieties are planted and knowledge of how to care for them. Raised beds and Grow boxes help reduce many of the problems tomato growers have had. Information on how to enjoy a good crop will be given.
