Letter to the Editor
Editor, As I listen to all the rhetoric about whether to increase taxes in order to meet the budget request, I am concerned that we would ever think about raising taxes to meet a county budget that increasing year after year.

Other cutbacks should be considered as well as tax hikes
Editor:
The Board of Supervisors is facing an approximately $1 million decline in revenue as compared to last year, prompting them to consider tax increases or budget cuts to overcome the shortfall. -
Reader takes offense with 'Activist' article
Editor,
It seems to me that the article titled “Activist accepts criticism of her groups proposals” by Mr. David Farrell published on August 9, 2012 is out of place. Based on the tone of the article it seems that it would have been better placed as Editorial rather than as a news article. -
Gene Lyon's column has hits and misses
Editor,

Unfortunately, during the entire month of April only one new member joined the group. -
Hales must have a problem with cutting spending
Editor:
Mr. Hales again purposes a county sales tax. Mr. Hales does not know how to use the words “cut spending”. He has voted for everything to increase spending over the past sixteen years. The cost of the county government is not the fault of the current new members of the board of supervisors. -
