PICAYUNE —
Dear Editor, Never in the history of our nation has a president been reelected who has caused 23 million unemployed, 6 trillion of debt and a certainty that his policies will continue on steroids. Economics 101 would refute these policies. He told his followers to “vote for revenge.” He, therefore, does not intend to represent one half of the population, and the good of all.
This president believes government has the right to tax to satisfy a big government philosophy which believes it should replace private enterprise with central government control. He often ignores the checks and balances of our constitution to accomplish these purposes.
Four more years of Barack Obama will see a continuation of the war on fossil energy; a continuation of governing through agencies and executive orders; excessive regulations which are already costing the economy billions of dollars and job losses.
Our constitutional republic cannot survive unless we all understand that the private sector creates growth and revenue, not government, and a too powerful executive must not be allowed more power than congress, or freedoms and rights will be in jeopardy. One election can be a winner for half the population, and a loss for all.
Sincerely,
Patricia Weir Wilkes
