PICAYUNE —
Kyra Baudoin is a Senior at PRC High School, where she serves as Blue Maskers Troupe President. She is on the swim team and holds down an after school job, at Dockside.
Baudoin was asked to partner with the Item due to recommendations by people that knew her and her ability to write.
She says, “I love to write because it lets me put my thoughts down and get my feelings out.”
“I am really excited to have the opportunity to let others know what is going on at our school. We have a lot of clubs and information that would be good to let everyone know about.”
When she is not at school or working, Kyra loves to hang out with her family and friends.
“I love to watch horror movies,” she says, “The scarier the better!”
So far the newer horror movies have failed to impress her. She is all about the classics.
When asked if she wants to pursue her a career in acting after college, Baudoin says that she very well might do that. But then again, there are other careers where a flair for all things dramatic could be an asset.
“I know that I can debate things quite skillfully,” she says, “... successful attorneys use a lot of drama presenting their case. I could see me doing something like that as well.”
Be sure to watch out for Baudoin’s column in the Education Section of the Item.

Back home in high school with memories of the summer
By Dr. Stanley Watson/Syndicated columnist
Before I hardly realized it the summer was ending and school would be starting soon. It never occurred to me to attend school any place besides Randlett. I was impatient to get back with the gang - my kind of people. I left California with a somewhat slanted view of that state. I was no doubt biased because of my limited social contacts. Also, on a few occasions I had been exposed to the bias of Californians against "Okies". -
