Boil Water Notice

CARRIERE — Pearl River Central Water Association has issued a precautionary boil water notice due to a line tie in.

The following areas: Arthur Odom Rd., Oscar Lee Rd., Ovelle Lee Rd., Lavelle Odom Rd., E.Z. Nites Rd., Arlene Lane, Progress Rd. East, Millcreek Rd., and anyone in the immediate area who was without water or had low pressure on 8-14-12.

Water samples will be taken for 2 consecutive days and as soon as the results are back the notice will be lifted.

If you have any questions please feel free to call the office during normal business hours Mon.-Fri. 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at 601-798-3103.

  • DeWitt arrested

    Sheriff Ricky Adam announced today that LESLIE DANIELLE DEWITT, 31 years of age, was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Division (CID), Hancock County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO).  DEWITT is suspected of violations of Mississippi Code regarding (3) counts of Sexual Battery where she was in a position of trust or authority over the child victim who was a sixteen (16) year old female.

    VATICAN CITY (AP) — With a few words in Latin, Pope Benedict VXI did Monday what no pope has done in more than half a millennium, announcing his resignation and sending the already troubled Catholic Church scrambling to replace the leader of its 1 billion followers by Easter.
    Not even his closest associates had advance word of the news, a bombshell that he dropped during a routine morning meeting of Vatican cardinals. With no clear favorites to succeed him, another surprise likely awaits when the cardinals elect Benedict’s successor next month.
    “Without doubt this is a historic moment,” said Cardinal Christoph Schoenborn, a protege and former theology student of Benedict’s who is considered a papal contender. “Right now, 1.2 billion Catholics the world over are holding their breath.”

    Pearl River Central Water Association has lifted the precautionary boil water notice for the following areas: Country Store in Carriere, Smith St., Camellia St. and any surrounding streets that may have been without water or had low water pressure on Saturday, 1-26-13 and Sunday 1-27-13.
