PRCC CONSTRUCTION

Work continues on the $8.9 million Marvin R. White Coliseum and the $10.4 million Ethel Holden Brownstone Center for the Performing Arts on the Poplarville campus of Pearl River Community College. The two facilities, which represent a combined $19.3 million investment for PRCC, are near one another. Officials had to wait for insurance settlements from Katrina to begin the Coliseum construction. Katrina destroyed the old structure. The Brownstone estate is paying for half of the cost of the fine arts facility. Both facilities will be state-of-the-art when completed. Ethel Holden Brownstone, a native of Whitesand Community, graduated from PRCC in 1931.
