WET WELL CONSTRUCTION—On Monday contractors had to bring in a 300-ton-rated crane, at right, to install a huge wet well for the Pearl River County Utility Authority along the Highland Commons Parkway construction project. The huge well will pump additional large volumes of waste water from Northwest Picayune to waste water facilities off of Beech Street, taking pressure off the Neal Road lift station, for treatment and release. The new well will allow additional development along Highland Commons Parkway and Cooper Road when completed, said Dungan Engineering‚Äôs Vernon Moore, a project engineer on the job. The new Highland Commons Parkway will connect Exit 6 on Interstate 59 with U.S. Highway 11 North near the new Highland hospital. Jeff McClain, PRCUA executive director, was on-hand for the major installation. Below, contract workers with HRL Contracting installed parts of the wet well Friday afternoon.
