Monday was forecast to be the busiest day for the U.S. Postal Service of the holiday season throughout the nation and it was proving so for the small post office in Carriere. Stacked on the counter with Mitchell are packages ready to be shipped, dropped off by residents who had been coming in a steady stream to mail packages and letters for the holidays.
