A renewed search for how Bigelow Frisby died began when the story and picture of him, above left, appeared in a Picayune Item publication in 2008 about county war heroes. In the photo above right, taken in Picayune, probably in late 1943 or early 1944, of Bigelow and Jean before he was deployed to the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Italy, where he was killed.
