POPLARVILLE – EOC Public Information Officer Tony Bounds issued a release warning residents of a road closure lifting of water advisories by the MDEQ due to the levee breach.
POPLARVILLE – EOC Public Information Officer Tony Bounds issued a release warning residents of a road closure lifting of water advisories by the MDEQ due to the levee breach.
The release said, he Pearl River County Road Department has temporarily closed a portion of Burge and Reyer Road to all through traffic. Due to recent heavy rains, a portion of the roadway has eroded and collapsed. This area is unsafe and cannot be traveled at this time.
“The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) has lifted the advisory for all waters affected by the levee breach at the treatment plant in Poplarville.
“The warning signs posted along Jump Off Creek and East Hobolochitto (Boley) will be removed today.”
